What is Parent Director Orientation?

A Parent Director Orientation is a complimentary 30-minute orientation (in-person or virtual) on the Suzuki Philosophy and Seed Music Academy's approach. Children do not need to be present for the meeting.

Makeup Class & Payment Policies

What is the assessment session policy?

A 24 hours written advance noticed is required for cancellation. An assessment session can only be rescheduled once. Credit is valid within 30 days of purchase.

What is the makeup policy for Early Childhood Programme from age 1-4?

For Early Childhood Programmes (ages 1.0–4.0), a total of two makeup classes eligible (includes illness and non-illness cancellation) for every 12 class enrolment. For documented illness, a makeup class may be offered where written notice is given at least 3 hours prior to the scheduled lesson time, or by 12:00 PM for afternoon lessons; non-illness cancellations in this age group require 24 hours' notice to be eligible. Makeup credits must be utilized within the same term of absence.

What is the makeup policy for Suzuki Instrumental Programmes?

Tuition secures a dedicated, reserved slot on your teacher's calendar. When a slot is reserved for your child, your teacher's time is set aside and prepared for that lesson whether or not your child attends. Because of this, we do not offer individual makeup lessons for student absences, including sickness and travel. All missed lessons of this kind are non-refundable. Unattended lessons are non-refundable and forfeited.

Piano & Voice: Your account will be charged for 8 group events; however, you have the flexibility to attend up to 9 group / events throughout the term.

Violin & Cello: Your account will be charged for 14 group events; however, you have the flexibility to attend up to 18 group /events throughout the term.

What is the Adult Programme Policy?

A 24 hours written advance noticed is required for cancellation. 10 lessons package is valid for 12 weeks, 18 lessons package is valid for 5 months. No show is considered a forfeited lesson without makeup class arrangement.

*A separate fee of HKD $800 will be charged for rehearsal, accompanist fee and recital performance if you wish to perform.

What is the Summer Lessons Policy?

Private Class: Typhoon 8 and Black rainstorm signal will be rescheduled.

Group Class: No group or summer camp makeup classes will be provided under any circumstances.

When must class credits be used?

All class credits must be completed within the current term and are non-transferable to the following term.

What is the makeup policy for school events & travel plans?

If you have planned travel or school events, please inform our administration of your away dates before making your final payment. We will then adjust your lesson schedule accordingly. Please note that after the final payment has been processed, no makeup lessons will be offered for any subsequent additional travel plans.

What happen if a teacher is absent?

All affected classes will be rescheduled or made up.

What if I arrive late or no show for lesson?

Late Arrival: If you arrive late for your scheduled lesson, you are entitled to the remaining time of that lesson.

No-Show: A no-show will be considered a forfeited class, and no makeup lesson will be provided.

Can I get a refund or transfer my class fees?

No. Fees are strictly non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-exchangeable after full payment.

How do I request a change to my full term schedule?

A non-refundable processing fee of $300 is applicable for each submitted form. Processing typically requires a minimum of 7 working days.

What payment methods are accepted?

We accept Cash, cheque, Pay Me, credit/debit card (Visa, Master card), We Chat Pay, Alipay, and FPS. American Express is not accepted.

What is the class arrangement for rainstorm & typhoon warning signals?

Yellow, Red Rainstorm, Typhoon No. 1-3: Classes will run as scheduled.

Black Rainstorm, Typhoon No. 8-10: If Black Rainstorm or Typhoon Warning Signal No. 8-10 is cancelled before 12:00 noon, classes resume 2 hours after the signal is cancelled.

If Black Rainstorm or No. 8-10 is still in effect after 12:00 noon, all instrumental classes will be taught online. There will not be private or group lessons makeup arranged for weather forced closure.

Concert Guidelines and Ticketing Policies

What is the concert ticketing policies?

Concert fee covers accompanist, one solo recital and one group concert per term, with two adult entrance tickets included. Additional concert tickets beyond the two complimentary tickets are available for purchase per person, per concert; please confirm current pricing with the office.

What are the registration deadlines for concerts?

Registration deadlines are March 1 and October 1 each year

What are the requirements for performing at the concert?

Age 1-4 yrs Programmes: Open to all students who have paid the concert fee and completed a minimum of 8 lessons.
Instrumental Programmes: Performance is based on teachers' recommendation.

Do strings and vocal students get rehearsal time with the pianist?

Yes, they receive a solo rehearsal time during group classes.
