Voice Teacher

Introduction

Ms. Ruth M Hwang has been teaching, singing, and conducting choirs for decades. She received her diploma in voice performance from National Taiwan Academy of Arts, Taiwan, a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Oregon in voice performance, and a Master degree of Music with a focus on voice from the Westminster Choir College, Princeton. She had been privileged to learn voice from opera singer Sandy West and renowned choral conductor Dr. Joseph Flummerfelt and Frauke Haasemann.

Ms. Hwang has performed as the honored guest soloist for commencement at the University of Oregon, Eugene. She was invited to sing with Mr. Yoshimi Ono from Japan across six states in the USA together with 29 churches and stages. She has performed the role of Mary in the musical “ Celebration “ in Portland, Oregon. As a choral conductor, she conducted the Master Singers at Westminster Choir college. She also joined the Westminster Symphony Choir to perform with the NY Philharmonic Orchestra at Carnegie Hall. She was employed at Rutgers Community Christian Church and interned at the Montgomery Evangelical Free Church and Blessed Hope Christian Church.

Ms. Hwang's performing repertoire ranges from classical Italian, German, Spanish, and English songs, to contemporary music such as Broadway musicals, jazz, and Chinese arts songs. She has been teaching students aged from 5 to adults. She is highly recommended by parents and students with a personal, loving and creative teaching style.
