On August 6, the Seed String Department took a field trip to Lion Strings, a dealer of fine violins and cellos in Tsum Sha Tsoi. The shop’s director, Mr. Perry Chan, welcomed young string students and their parents, and began by introducing them to several smaller size violins from different countries.
Ms. Melany demonstrated each violin so that students could hear their different sounds.
Then Mr. Miguel played some cellos, including a very fancy one with a huge, soloist sound!
The trip ended with a round of string instrument trivia and chocolate prizes, as well as complimentary instrument cloths from the very generous Mr. Perry!
