In early January, several Seed teachers traveled to Deoksan, Korea to participate in the 2025 Asia Suzuki Music Conference. The event — attended by over one thousand Suzuki teachers, students and families from various Asian countries — featured teacher seminars, masterclasses, rehearsals, private lessons and numerous concerts. Below, Seed teachers share their reflections on the event.
"A memorable experience for me was meeting a Korean teacher who is teaching the Suzuki method at an orphanage, where she is both the teacher and parent to an orphan. My heart goes out to these selfless teachers who dedicate themselves to this approach and who, despite the difficult circumstances still strongly believe “Every Child Can!” —Ms. Rebekah
"I was delighted to attend the 8th Asia Suzuki Music Conference! It offered a fantastic opportunity to meet new colleagues and reconnect with old friends. The conference inspired me with fresh ideas, allowed me to reflect on my teaching, and helped me revisit key aspects of the Suzuki Method. Most importantly, it reminded me that music has a unique power to unite people from all over the world, and how wonderful it is to be part of a worldwide Suzuki community." — Ms. Mafalda
"I appreciated the opportunities I had in Korea to observe master Suzuki teachers, many of whom studied with Dr. Suzuki themselves as children. I had the pleasure of learning from and/or observing Brian Lewis, Martin Ruttimann and Koen Rens. Their warmth, ability to connect emotionally with students, creativity and expertise inspired and energized me for this new year of teaching." — Ms. Melany
